As a part of my studies, I was tasked with designing a resume that breaks the 8.5x11" bounds of a traditional piece of paper. With my concept, I sought to work out some more multi-dimensional, interactive solutions that combine typography and bookbinding, that reached towards an older personal style I was working with. I have redefined my personal style since then, but hold this project close to my heart.
Since the resume is a reflection of myself and my design practice at the time, I chose to incorporate some wavy and trippy patterns and chose a bright green as accent. Each leaf or page is slightly shorter than the one before it, in order to layer with the pattern as necessary. Pages are also outlined along the "ragged" edge in green, as a subtle visual marker.
Some sources of visual inspiration were the concentric but organic patterns found in reishi mushrooms, malachite stone, tree rings, ocean foam... I wanted to use a very current typeface, opting for DJR foundry's Roslindale and Elza Text for body copy.
